City Government joins Alay-Lakad 2019

In behalf of City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap, Tagbilaran City’s First Lady and Mutya sa Tagbilaran Chair Jane Yap encouraged hundreds of supporters to rally behind the cause of the initiative. For years now, the City Government has been faithfully supporting Alay Lakad. Mayor Yap said that it is more than just a walk, Alay-Lakad represents the fulfillment of dreams, “It is an expression of commitment for the scholarships given to the out-of-school youths and a manifestation that we are valuing education. It is a known fact that people backed up with good academic credentials are given more opportunities and privileges than those who doesn’t”, Mayor Yap added. This pioneer “walk” for a cause aims to raise funds for the education and training of out-of-school youths. Gov. Arthur Yap, Vice-Governor Rene Relampagos, 1st District representative Cong. Edgar Chatto, and Tagbilaran City’s First Lady Jane Yap were the front-runners in the event. The 2019 Alay-Lakad misses also graced the stage to drumbeat the occasion’s advocacy led by Herma Darien Pamplona of the Holy Name University, Candy Eastman representing DepEd-Tagbilaran City Division, Kathleen Ausejo representing DepEd-Bohol Division, and Carla Mae Telmo for the City Government of Tagbilaran. Mote than thousands of participants from the national government agencies, local government units, and non-governmental organizations joined the Alay Lakad 2019.
