Gugma Tagbilaran gains support from the private sector
Tagbilaranons unite towards a noble cause — Gugma Tagbilaran. A project aimed at raising funds for the frontliners in Tagbilaran City. Tagbilaran City’s First Lady Jane Yap organized the initiative and has been gaining grounds these past few weeks. Many concerned private companies rallied behind the cause. To date, the financial assistance raked in more than 1 million pesos, aside from the in-kind donations such as the Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from Sec. Michael Dino and Senator Bong Go, Alcohol from Du Ek Sam, Face Masks from the First Consolidated Bank (FCB), and Face Shields from Yuri, Yasmin and Yannis Yap. Food donations are also pouring in, providing sustenance to the City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management staff, medical frontliners, barangay workers, and volunteers. To date, the initiative targets to deliver 500 PPEs to hospitals around Tagbilaran City.
Gugma Tagbilaran partnered with the private sectors in the City to provide medical grade PPEs, food care packages, face shield, masks, hygienic and reusable PPEs made of durable and waterproof material which you can disinfect. Gugma Tagbilaran already gave PPEs to Dr. Bong Lechago and Pulmonologist, Dr. Jesus Bryan Cepedoza. FL Yap saw the need to make the work place safe from hazards which would eventually make or break Tagbilaran City’s stance against COVID-19. The risks faced by the doctors and nurses are mitigated when safety is guaranteed.
Truly, a major issue with the crisis we are facing today. Standing behind the needs of our medical doctors to arm themselves with the right protective gears as they battle in the frontlines against COVID-19 is crucial.
