Mayor Yap turns over brand new motorcycle to the City PNP
City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap led the simple turn-over ceremony of the brand-new Honda CRF-250 to the City PNP as represented by Chief of Police Lt. Col. Mary Crystal Peralta. The motorcycle will be an additional reinforcement to the monitoring and surveillance operations of the City PNP. To date, the City PNP is actively pursuing its Anti-Criminality Campaign, Oplan Double Barrel, Drug Clearing and Household Tagging, and Training of the Barangay Peace-Keeping Action Team. According to the unit’s year-end report, the City PNP was able to seized more than Php23 million worth of drugs in 91 operations with 127 drug personalities arrested. The unit has also actively conducted lectures and seminars on Anti-Illegal Drug Operations and Advocacy Lectures among the youth. City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap recognized the City PNP’s dedication and commitment, “Through the efforts of the City PNP, the peace and security in Tagbilaran City have been upheld. They were also instrumental in the border control and health keeping measures implementation during this pandemic. We are hoping that the new motorcycle will strengthen their efforts”, Mayor Yap said. Aside from the City PNP’s core mandates, the unit is also actively involved in community-based initiatives such as Tree Planting, Kapwa Ko Sagot Ko Program, Flyers Distribution, Information Lectures on Terrorism, and Resistance Education for Illegal Drugs dubbed as PROJECT-READY.
