Fifty-eight women (58) from Tagbilaran City received livelihood assistance from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) recently. These women were trained under the CSWD’s training and education arm on food processing led by Anelsa Sumalinog. The Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) aims to help women who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and Typhoon Odette. Social Worker III and Women Focal Desiree Faith Lingo in an interview said that the grant was divided into two categories, one was intended for those who already have an existing micro-enterprise and the second was given to those with start-up business plans. Out of the 58 women, 37 recipients who have an existing small business and SAP (Social Amelioration Program) beneficiaries were handed Php15, 000.00 each to help infuse capital to their existing enterprises. While the remaining 21 recipients received the Tocino and Longganisa Livelihood Starter Package which included 15 kilos of meat, cooler, and food processing ingredients.
