SEA AMBULANCE

City Health Officer (CHO) Dr. Jeia Pondoc and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (CDRRMO) Gerard Lavadia personally welcomed the new sea ambulance that the Department of Health (DOH) gave to Tagbilaran City. Five (5) local government units in Central Visayas were provided with the sea vessel which included Tagbilaran City, along with the Municipality of Bantayan, Santa Fe, Medellin, and Daanbantayan.

The sea ambulance is pegged at Php3 million equipped with an ambulance stretcher, automatic external defibrillator, portal suction machine, nebulizer, an aneroid sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, oxygen cylinder, and examining light, among other equipment. The ambulance measures 8.8 meters by 2.3 meters and is powered by a Suzuki DF115A outboard motor. Currently, the use of the sea ambulance for inter-island trips is not yet permitted since the operational protocols and necessary documentary requirements are still being processed by the CDRRMO in the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
