Tagbilaran City received major recognition from the Grand Nutrition Award held at the Summit Galleria Suites in Cebu City on September 16, 2022. Tagbilaran City got top scores in its implementation of nutrition laws and policies, governance and organizational structure, and local nutrition committee management. Barangay Dampas and Barangay Bool also was cited for its effective nutrition programs. Barangay Dao got the 2021 Outstanding Barangay in Region 7 for scoring high in all dimensions, while Barangay Nutrition Scholar Juanita Hinay from Barangay Bool is the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar in 2021. City Nutritionist Rey Delos Santos thanked the generous and unwavering support of Mayor Jane Yap, Chief of Staff Baba Yap, and City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc, including all the barangay nutrition council officers.

Grand Nutrition Awards is a yearly awarding by the Department of Health thru the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in region-7 for the best performing Local Nutrition Committee in the Barangay, Municipal, City and Provincial Level.
